The PT Static family is a set of steel head plates and stands that combine to create a wide variety of targets. By changing the stand height or head plate, you can alter the targets to meet your specific training needs. The head plates are mounted to the stands so they bounce when hit, giving you immediate visual feedback and positive reinforcement.

All shooting surfaces are made of through hardened 500 (or 550) Brinell steel for maximum safety and durability, and they are completely flat and smooth with no exposed bolts, clamps or brackets to cause unpredictable splatter when they are inevitably hit. A variety of common head shapes and sizes are available.

The stands are available in several different heights and are made of high-quality steel to withstand the punishment of everyday use. We put a bullet-shedding bend up and down the front edge of each stand to eliminate the dangerous flat leading edge without requiring additional components or welding.

*Note: The image shows multiple target head choices. However, this product package only includes one target and head plate, which can be selected above.

  • Is the stand height adjustable?: The stands are not adjustable, but four different stand heights are available for the same low price.

How can I get my static target to make more noise when I shoot it?: When mounting the head to the stand, don’t tighten the bolts all the way. The head plate is meant to be a little loose so some of the bullet’s energy is dissipated by the movement of the target. This also creates a louder ring on impact.

How do I know if my target head is handgun or rifle grade?: Rifle grade target heads (made of AR550 armor steel) are designated by three notches on the bottom edge of the plate. Handgun grade targets (made of AR500 armor steel) will have a smooth edge with no notches.

Are the Cowboy Action target heads compatible with the PT Static stand?: Yes. All PT Static target heads and Cowboy Action target heads are interchangeable on both the PT Static and Evil Roy stands.

Are the Cowboy Action shapes rated for rifle?: No. Cowboy Action target heads are made of 3/8” AR500 armor steel and are designed to withstand any handgun or Cowboy Action load.
