The Evil Roy Practice Target was created with famed cowboy action shooter “Evil Roy” Gene Pearcey. Pearcey was looking for a steel target he could throw in the back of any trunk and easily carry out onto the range. The designers at Action Target went to the drawing board and came up with a collapsible stand that is both ergonomic and durable.

The Evil Roy stand has two settings. The high setting is 3' tall, and the lower setting is 2' tall. You can set it to the lower setting by pulling the neck back 90 degrees and then pushing down until it locks in place. You can then mount the target head using the bolt holes located on the front of the round handle. The lower setting provides increased stability for heavier target heads (e.g. PT Torso, PT Hostage, etc.).

Made to fit all Action Target steel target heads, the Evil Roy stand is the perfect training tool for the commuting shooter. Completely folded, the stand is less than 3’ long and can easily fit into the trunk of any car, so you can take it wherever your shooting adventures take you.

NOTE: The Evil Roy Practice Stand does not come with a head plate.

  • How does my Evil Roy Practice Stand ship?: The stand ships pre-assembled and collapsed. It comes with two lock nuts, two wing nuts, and two carriage bolts regardless if you ordered a target head or not. You can use the wing nuts to mount the target head by hand, or use a 3/4" socket to mount the target head with the lock nuts.

Does the name "Evil Roy" apply to a specific target head?: The name "Evil Roy" applies to the collapsible stand and not to a particular target head. Because the bolt holes are all the same, you can attach any Action Target target head to the Evil Roy stand as long as it isn't too heavy (e.g. PT IPSC Torso, PT IPSC Hostage, PT IPSC A-Zone, etc.).

Why are there two sets of bolt holes on the stand?: The Evil Roy has two settings.
